After over a year of battling cancer our dear friend Mike Colasanti passed away. We are deeply saddened by his loss and would like to thank everyone who knew and cared about him for all the kind wishes, donations and love sent his way. Mike Colasanti, as many of you know, has been a part of the John's Auto Care team from the very beginning. Mike is the person you ask for when you need something done and he'd do it with a smile.
Mike started experiencing severe headaches and on June 30th 2022 doctors found and removed a brain tumor. Mike has been diagnosed with grade 4 Glioblastoma, which is a very aggressive non-curable form of brain cancer. February Update: Mike has had much better results from his newest treatment plan and is able to come into the shop on his good days. Occupational therapy sessions help him with his vision loss take a lot out of him, but he is giving it all he's got and still manages to come in when he can. He appreciates all the love, support and well wishes from his John's Auto Care family!
Mike Update: Mike's most recent MRI showed progression of the tumor to the other side of Mike's brain. At this time his doctors have advised Mike to halt all treatments and focus on time with his friends and family. Mike is unable to come in and visit anymore, but he knows that many of our customers still come in asking about him. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers. We will try our best to keep Mike's John's Auto Care family up to date on any changes. Both Mike and all the staff at John's Auto Care have been so grateful for everyone's kindness during this difficult time. Thank you.
Update: We held a benefit for Mike on October 8th and it was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who helped, those that came and those who donated! It means so much so see all the support for Mike! Donations are still open to everyone and more info on events and Mike journey are to come! Thank you!
Update: Mike recently had an MRI that showed growth of the tumor and his treatment plan is getting changed by doctors to find what will work best for him. We are keeping a positive attitude and sending our love to Mike and his family!
Update: Believe it or not it's already been over a year since Mike's diagnosis. He still comes in to visit the shop on days when he feels well. He greatly enjoys seeing familiar faces and catching up with customers when they come in and see him hanging out in the office. The treatment plan he is on has kept the tumor at bay for now which is great news. Mike will continue to fight this fight and we all pray that things continue in a positive direction!
